Stromasys has a strong history of providing innovative solutions to the IT market. Stromasys was created in 1998 when the founders made a management buyout of Digital Equipment Corporation’s (DEC) European Software Migration Centers. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, Stromasys initially provided software migration projects for Compaq in Europe and later expanded to have a World Wide presence.
Today, we have sold over 5,000 licenses to the world’s leading companies in over 50 countries. We are the first and the original provider of enterprise-class virtualization solutions for classic systems. Early CHARON solutions consisted of engineered application translators to move Digital VAX and Alpha applications to Itanium. Since then, we have also developed solutions for HP and Sun servers.
Our CHARON family of products remains core to our business and we have invested millions of dollars to standardize our tool set and create cost effective solutions which enable our customers to preserve their software investments across hardware generations.
The needs and challenges of today’s IT departments continue to drive solutions to take cost out of their organization, while reducing risk and providing a best in class return on investment. Stromasys has a track record of solving customer’s mission critical problems. We have been recognized by the Gartner group in their 2011 technology report as the leader in “processor emulation”. This approach may be a bit new for many today, but it will shortly become a mainstream approach.
We realize that this is a disruptive technology, and goes against modern thinking of ripping and replacing aged equipment and millions of dollars of process, tools, intellectual property, training and software investments. Our CHARON solutions enable you to avoid a costly application rewrite and data conversion, purchasing of new licenses and testing of your applications. We can help you do all this and still discard the old hardware, reducing your footprint, with modern high performance servers. Our solutions allow our customers to transfer their business critical classic applications at a fraction of the costs of migration, in a fraction of the time.
If your business plans require you to consolidate your data centers, reduce your power and cooling consumption, or eliminate the need to renew your costly maintenance agreement on classic systems, our team of experts can help. We are and will remain committed to preserve your software applications across hardware generations.
