Stromasys Welcomes New VP of Product Development
Stromasys is pleased to announce that Ryan Bloom has joined the organization to manage and further the development of their CHARON virtualization software products. Prior to joining Stromasys, Ryan held the title of VP Product Development at Lulu.com, a popular online self-publishing platform. His background in software engineering spans fifteen years and includes work on the Apache HTTPd Server and the Apache Portable Run-time. That experience, combined with his passion for teambuilding and an insistence on quality, ensures his continued success in this role.
Ryan joins Stromasys as they launch their latest software product, CHARON-HPA/3000, which enables a virtual HP3000 to run on industry-standard hardware. As Vice President of Product Development, he will oversee Stromasys’ current line of virtualization software products, build and manage the product team, and drive the vision and strategic execution of future product releases. Ryan says he is excited to start a new challenge at Stromasys. “Serving as VP of Product Development combines the best of both worlds, because it allows me to utilize my technical expertise, while also fulfilling my passion for growing teams and working with them to deliver high quality software ahead of schedule.”
Ryan is an especially welcome addition amid their growing product line. According to Stromasys CEO Ling Chang, “Ryan’s wealth of experience and industry knowledge has already established him as a key player here at Stromasys, and we view his appointment as a sign of our commitment to being the leading company providing hardware virtualization. CHARON Customer and Reseller Training
Geneva, Switzerland – Stromasys SA is offering the next CHARON training for its Value Added Resellers (VAR) and customers on June 4th and 5th in Paris, France. CHARON-VAX, CHARON-AXP AND CHARON-HPA solutions will be reviewed and hands-on training will be provided.
At the end of the training, the participants will have an overview of the CHARON-VAX, CHARON-AXP and CHARON-HPA products, including the problems the products can solve, the product positioning, the product selection criteria for replacing a particular VAX, ALPHA or HP3000 system, product performance, installation, configuration, the various methods for transferring the client’s application and data to CHARON, and selling aids.

Stromasys announces version 2.2 of Stromasys Cross-Platform virtualization CHARON-AXP/SMA for Windows family of products
Stromasys announces version 2.2 of Stromasys Cross-Platform virtualization CHARON-AXP/SMA for Windows family of products. This version includes new important functionality, license management improvements, and problem fixes. The new version is available for production use immediately.
New functionality includes:
- CHARON-AXP is supported on VMware ESXi 5.1
- CHARON license expiration date can be updated without stopping CHARON
- Additional CHARON instances and products can be added to the license without stopping CHARON
- Network licensing is supported by CHARON-AXP. Network licensing is available from Stromasys as a service

CHARON-AXP Version 4.4 Announcement
Today, Stromasys announces the release of version 4.4 of Stromasys Cross-Platform virtualization CHARON- AXP/4100/DS/ES/GS for Windows and Linux family of products. This new version includes added functionality including support for VMware version 5.1, license management improvements, and problem fixes. It is available immediately for production use.

The Americas Office to Continue 360 Hour Backup Key Program in 2012
The Americas Office plans to continue the 360 hour Backup Key Program in 2012 for CHARON Support Contracts that use the HASP license dongle. All new or renewed CHARON Support Contracts that use the HASP license dongle will automatically come with an additional 360 hour Backup key. The additional Backup key allows for 360 hours of CHARON product execution time (measured in 1 hour increments), and is “Active” during the terms of any new or renewed Support Contract. Customers can use these CHARON backup license keys in whatever way they see fit. This includes temporary running of an additional CHARON system in parallel with Production; traditional Backup/Archival tasks; as an option to develop a CHARON-based Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions or simply as a Test, Development or QA environment to evaluate a new release of CHARON and Windows / Linux / VMware patches and updates.
